Duck Hunt Replica

One of my software projects I have ever took part in was recreating the Nintendo classic game Duck Hunt using Java, which I made in ICS 111 as a final project for the course. However, instead of using a Zapper laser gun like the original game as input, you use the mouse cursor to aim at the ducks.

For the project, I worked with a group of two other people. While groups were not yet worked out at the time (excuse my former inexperience) I wound up working on the motion of the ducks as well as a portion of the game’s aesthetic features and hit detection (surprisingly a very difficult part of the creation of this project at the time!). Some of the other features that weren’t done by me were the scoring system, the rest of the aesthetics, and spawning system of the ducks, in which I also helped my group members with for parts of.

From this project, I was able to learned what it could be like working with a group on a software project, or working on one at all. And towards the end of the creation phase, we were able to assign ourselves to roles as our communication also got better. This project is a little embarrasing to reveal at this point in time, but I can assure you that I have had more practice with programming.
